BIRTH OF A GALAXY
For any of you that have been watching BBC's Stargazing Live, you were no doubt amazed by this image from the European Space Agency. The image shows the birth of a galaxy, you can find it just south of Orion's Belt, it looks like a little blurry star. The image is incredible, it shows the beginnings of new stars (the red/orange glow) as well as evidence of Black Holes (blue/white glow). It also shows us proof that at the centre of every galaxy is a giant black hole.
As an amateur astronomer living in London, I don't really ever see much, so this was great!
